We’ll have crafts, music, and dancing that bring the legend to life. And the best part? While you’re having all this fun, you’ll be learning and practicing Spanish along the way! Instructor and Narrator: 

Esther Gomez is a passionate entrepreneur from Mexico and the founder of the Spanish Fun Program. With over 20 years of teaching experience in Massachusetts, Esther creates vibrant, engaging classes that keep students of all ages motivated, ensuring a relaxed and joyful environment for learning. She has taught Spanish to all ages—from babies and toddlers to adults and seniors—through dynamic and immersive programs. In addition to the Spanish Fun Program, Esther has also been a professor at Bunker Hill Community College for about five years. A professional storyteller, Esther studied theater for five years at La Salle University in Mexico. For seven years, she has led the Bilingual Immersive Storytelling Program, and she has also taken part in professional workshops with storytellers from Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, and Argentina, to keep her craft fresh, learn new techniques, and keep growing as a passionate lifelong learner.

She had the honor of presenting two of her most beloved stories at the Harvard Peabody Museum: The Magic of the Day of the Dead in 2025, and The Inca Empire and the Children of the Sun in April 2026. Esther is also delighted to return to the Harvard Peabody Museum this coming October 24th to present the Day of the Dead storytelling once again. She is also thrilled that, on June 14th, 2026, she will bring an interactive activity to Viva Latinoamérica, a special cultural event presented at Boston Symphony Hall for the first time, organized by the Verónica Robles Cultural Center.

What makes Esther’s storytelling so special? The audience doesn’t just listen—they live the story. From start to finish, they become the stars, engaging with vivid visuals, music, movement, and interaction. Esther loves singing, dancing, laughing, and having fun, and that energy sparks connection. Through this, participants boost their Spanish, build empathy, reduce stress, and foster a true sense of belonging.

One of Esther’s favorite parts is sharing traditions through cultural cooking experiences. In these hands-on programs, participants don’t just eat—they prepare the food from scratch. They roll up their sleeves, measure ingredients, and cook step by step, fully living the story from the first ingredient to a rich, flavorful bite.

Her storytelling programs, presented at libraries, schools, senior centers, and festivals, have reached audiences at events such as the Saugus Community Festival, the Gilman Square Arts & Music Festival in Somerville, the Hispanic Heritage Festival at Medford City Hall, and many summer and fall concerts through the Medford Family Network. These events help build a sense of community and connection.
